Chestnut Horse
Over the last few years I have been researching, collecting and restoring historical, botanical images from as far back as 500AD. Along the way I discovered many beautiful engravings, woodcuts and paintings by a number of naturalists that inspired me to share their beauty.
I believe that people feel more special when they receive something tangible as opposed to a text message. Notecards are wonderful for longer messages but postcards are perfect for a quick "how are you" or "I miss you". So I fell prey to my hyper-focus and created a series of postcards. Send them or frame them, they make a wonderful statement either way.
This hand-colored copperplate engraving from George Shaw and Frederick Nodder comes from 'The Naturalist's Miscellany' which was printed in the 1700s.
